LOOP News 1 MAY 08: POPHAM MICROLIGHT FAIR POSTPONEDOrganiser Shelley Smith told LOOP, "Popham has been postponed until 2-3 August, unless you are either a duck or fly a floatplane, after nearly 24 hours of continuous rain and more on its way. The field is completely bogged out. "Yes, I'm absolutely gutted but let's try and look on the bright side... "First, the postponed date gives us more time to find some more hidden treasures and enables those with aircraft that could not be ready in time for this weekend to get a Permit. "Second, with luck the weather should be better, warm and sunny... "Finally, for those now at a loose end for the weekend, why not take a trip up to Rufforth, Yorkshire where they are organising a last minute fly-in and unveiling of the new P&M trike? "Thank you all so much for all your help and I dearly hope to see you all again in August. Of course, that being holiday season I realise some people just won't be able to make it. "I am still intending to lay on a display and evening party, and perhaps with a bit of extra time we can do some stuff that maybe we couldn't do this weekend. I know that by August many of the aircraft that were only capable of being trailered to this weekend's show should have their permits to fly which of course will make for a much better celebration."
